Quamby
Just a little white wooden gate on a house at Balnarring Beach.
But the name on the gate fascinates me - especially as the house and gardens are quite elegant (but well screened - hard to photograph) and sited on a double allotment.
There is a Quamby Estate in Tasmania.
Built in 1828, Quamby Estate is one of Tasmania’s most historically significant properties.
It was formerly the ancestral home of Tasmania’s first-born Premier, Sir Richard Dry.
There is a Quamby Homestead on the Great Ocean Road in Victoria and played a historical role in the emergence of Western Victoria.
Its history is HERE.
I wonder if this Balnarring property has some connection with one of these properties
- especially the last one, as it is near ocean.
